JET SCHMIDT

Jet Schmidt is an artist based out of the Antfarm Artist's Cooperative in Downtown Raleigh. She joins masterfully crafted forms with narrative illustration, combining wheel-throwing with layered brushwork techniques to create functional works of art. Inspired by nature, Jet infuses her artwork with bold repeating patterns, adding depth and meaning to each piece.

Jet earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design and her Master of Art in Teaching from Meredith College in Raleigh. In 2019, Jet received the Best Studio Artist Award at the Boylan Heights Artwork.

When she is not working in her ceramics studio, she is an elementary visual arts teacher, where she is passionate about equity, social-emotional learning, and inspiring creativity in her students.
